Combine barbecue sauce, brown sugar, garlic, Worcestershire sauce and paprika in a jug.
Lightly spray the inside of the slow cooker dish with cooking spray, place ribs inside, basting well with the prepared sauce. Slow cook on low for 8 – 9 hours.
Remove ribs carefully from slow cooker and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Baste ribs generously with some of the remaining sauce from the slow cooker and bake in a pre-heated oven at 180C for approximately 10 minutes or until the ribs begin to char slightly and become crisp around the edges.
Turn the slow cooker to high. Mix some cornflour (I use about 3 tablespoons) with a little water and add to the leftover sauce, stirring to thicken. Remove ribs from the oven, slice or place whole on a bed of rice and serve with the remaining sauce.
