How to Create Space Where There is None … Say What!?!

One of the things I hear often is “My house/apartment is too small … I don’t have enough storage & cupboard space and need a bigger place”. Sound familiar! I’ve even heard myself say the same thing but I’ve also learned, that’s not always possible and instead, I have to make do with the space I have available. So one of my best tips for getting organised is to find and create space where previously there is none. In other words, finding storage solutions for some of the smallest and least obvious places. How is that possible, I hear you ask! Let me give you … read more

Bathroom Labels … Free to Download …

Recently on the blog I shared the story of how I organised my main bathroom and you can read about that here, here and here. To help me locate things easily and to be super organised, I created a gorgeous set of labels which I cut out, laminated and attached to the various baskets and crates I used. I have since had loads of requests from lovely readers for these labels so here they are. Each set of labels contains 18 different individual labels. I have created the same set of labels in three different styles and colours and they are absolutely free for you to … read more

Lunchbox Planner … Free to Download …

Some mornings can be a bit or a rush or you can just get stuck in a rut of what to give the kids for lunch. That used to happen to me until I created my Lunchbox Planner. At the start of the weekend I try to plan what I need for the kids lunches, add any items to my grocery list and prepare for the week ahead. It also helps me plan any baking I want to get done on the weekend so that there are muffins, slices, balls and cakes cooked, frozen and ready to go. The end result is that the kids have nutritious, healthy lunches with plenty of variety and I feel … read more

How to Organise the Bathroom Drawers (Part 2) …

Last week, my decluttering task was to clean out the top drawer in the main bathroom and I’m pleased to announce “Mission Accomplished”. Doesn’t it feel great to achieve something that’s been on your “To Do List”?   This week I’ve decided to tackle the next two drawers. The top drawer held most of Miss 21’s makeup and skincare and I found the perfect solution at Howards Storage. You can read that story here.   The other two drawers were going to store bulkier items so this is how I tackled organising those:   I removed everything … read more

10 Reasons to Make Your Bed Every Morning …

What’s the first chore or job you complete in the morning? For me, I always make the bed when I get up (unless, of course, hubby is still asleep) and open the curtains. I suppose it’s a habit that I developed from a young age, so here are ten good reasons to make the bed every day:   It’s a simple task. It’s not difficult to make the bed and a smooth, made bed just feels so much nicer and cleaner. How to Organise the Bathroom Drawers (Part 1) …

Bathroom drawers can get very messy, especially if you have teenage girls living in the house and they have a particular fondness for makeup. Raise your hand now if you know what I’m talking about!   Miss 21 has claimed the main bathroom as hers, which is okay because hubby and I have an ensuite and Miss 15 uses the powder room. Everyone has a bathroom, so everyone is happy! But I will own up to being frustrated at how messy the drawers can get, so it was time to take some action. Here are my top tips for how to go about cleaning out the bathroom … read more

How to Organise the Bathroom Cupboard …

Although our main bathroom is actually quite small, the bathroom cupboard is a reasonable size. So to make the most of the space available, I decided to declutter the cupboard and give it a good clean. Here’s how I did it, along with my top tips:   I removed everything from the cupboard so that all that was remaining was glorious empty space.   I wiped down the sides and bottom of the cupboard (including any shelving) with a damp cloth using Spray and Wipe. For marks or stains that are a bit harder to shift, I would use something like … read more
