Halloween Poster … “Sorry but we have no more lollies” …

Although it’s largely an American tradition, we’ve celebrated Halloween with our kids for years, especially when they were younger. They’d excitedly get dressed up, then “trick or treat” in neighbouring streets and it was always a lot of fun. Although the kids are now older, we still continue to hand out chocolates to any “ghost”, “witch” or “goblin” who knocks on our door. We usually start the evening with a fairly large bowl that’s full of yummy chocolate but sometimes we run out.   Around 10 years ago, we happened to be in America during Halloween … read more

Bacon, Tomato and Vegetable Pasta Bake (with Spooky Eyeballs) …

A Pasta Bake will usually find its way onto my Meal Plan at least once a fortnight because, apart from being delicious, it’s quick and easy and a lot of the chopping and preparation can be done earlier in the day. In fact, the whole dish can be created in the morning so that you only need to pop it in the oven at dinner time. I also love that everything goes into a single dish … less washing up! This is one of our family favourites and I love it also because it’s a great way to use up left over vegetables. That’s the beauty of a dish like this … you can add … read more

Well, it’s that time of the year again! The time when little “ghosts”, “goblins”, “witches” and other scary little monsters take to the streets shrieking and squealing “TRICK OR TREAT”! Now, I do realise Halloween isn’t celebrated by … read more

Chocolate Cupcakes … Halloween Spider Cupcakes

Halloween is just around the corner and, although it’s a real American tradition, it’s being celebrated more and more in Australia. Some people have mixed feelings about Halloween but we love it and when the kids were younger, they used to enjoy having a little Halloween Party with their friends before heading out to trick or treat. We always accompanied them and usually only visited neighbours in the street who were willing to participate. It was always a lot of fun and the kids still have fond memories of those times. So if you do decide to host your own … read more
