Here is another of my favourite recipes for a One Bowl Orange Cake. It’s so quick and easy because all the ingredients simply get combined in a single bowl and mixed. It’s also deliciously moist and perfect for your next morning tea with family or friends. Enjoy!
One Bowl Orange Cake …

Ingredients …
- 1 cup self-raising flour
- ⅔ cup castor sugar
- 2 tablespoons orange zest
- ¾ cup softened butter
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- ¼ cup milk
- Icing:
- 1 cup icing sugar
- 1 teaspoon softened butter
- 4 teaspoons orange juice
- desiccated coconut
Method …
- Preheat oven to 180C (fan-forced). Lightly spray a 20cm round cake tin with cooking spray and line the base with baking paper cut to fit.
- Add all cake ingredients to the bowl of an electric mixer. Beat on a low speed until all ingredients are combine, then increase speed to medium. Beat for approximately 3 – 4 minutes or until the mixture is smooth and has lightened in colour.
- Bake for 35 – 40 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the middle of the cake comes out cleanly.
- Remove from the oven and allow to stand for approximately 2 minutes. Turn cake onto a wire rack to cool completely before icing.
- To make the icing, sift the icing sugar into a small bowl. Add butter and orange juice and whisk with a fork until smooth. Spread icing evenly over the top of the cake and sprinkle with desiccated coconut.
