What do you get when you combine your favourite chocolate muffin recipe with yummy crushed Maltesers … Malteser Muffins, of course! But be warned, if you don’t get these into the freezer quickly once they’re out of the oven and cooled, they could just disappear before your very eyes! Enjoy!


Malteser Muffins …

Ingredients …
  • 2 cups self-raising flour
  • ⅓ cup cocoa
  • ⅓ cup castor sugar
  • 1 ½ cups maltesers, roughly chopped
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
Method …
  1. Preheat oven to 190C (fan forced) and spray a 12-hole muffin pan lightly with cooking spray.
  2. Combine self-raising flour, cocoa, castor sugar and maltesers in a bowl and make a well in the centre.
  3. Whisk melted butter, milk and eggs together.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and gently fold together until just combined. Be careful not to over mix, the mixture should be lumpy.
  5. Distribute mixture evenly between 12 muffin holes and bake for approximately 15 – 16 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven when cooked and allow to stand in muffin tray for 3 – 4 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool.
  7. These muffins are suitable to freeze.
